It has 8 normal inputs, 2 inputs for tamper and power failure, and 6 outputs. The expansion module communicates with the intelligent micro EP panel through the RS-485 port. RS-485 is used for this type of expansion module which defines the electrical interface and physical layer for point-to-point communication of electrical devices. The 8 inputs are provided and used for monitoring door contact or request-to-exit devices. This Alarm.com Two Reader Expansion Module is powered by 12 to 24V DC at reader ports and requires 20V DC supplied to VIN. With its built-in LED control and buzzer control, users will know the status of the expansion module and if there is an error in the system.
