You will need to drill a 3/8’ diameter hole in your door or window. Drill it directly across from your recessed door and window contact. This is so that you can press the magnet into the hole. You should make the depth of the hole equal to the length of the magnet. So that the head of the magnet is flush with the edge of the door or window. We recommend installing your horizontally instead of vertically. This is so that the magnet does not accidentally fall out over time. If the hole you have drilled for the recessed magnet is too big for the magnet to sit snug, you can put a little glue around the magnet before inserting it into the hole.
When you use the magnet with there miniature recessed door contact, you must make sure that the magnet is not further away than 3/4” from the contact when the door is closed. If you do not maintain a 3/4” magnet spacing gap between the ADT 3/8″ diameter recessed magnet and the other contact, your zone will stay in fault. Then, you won’t be able to arm your security system.
