2GIG CDMA Verizon Alarm com Cell Radio uses CDMA cellular technology and is for use with the 2GIG Go!Control security panels currently using GSM modules. In addition, this 2GIG CDMA Verizon Alarm com Cell Radio is also added to a 2GIG Go!Control Panel to enable it for remote monitoring and management. While the CDMA module is designed to provide long-term network support and broader coverage through the Verizon network. Additionally, this Radio Module gives the central station panel two-way voice ability, also allows for delivery of the latest over-the-air firmware updates, as well as allows for the transmission of security and automation info to online portals*. Furthermore, In order to work the Go!Control Panel must have firmware of 1.9.5 or higher.

General:

Similar to other 2GIG cellular radios, the module does not rely on any locally powered equipment in order to transmit signals. This makes communications to your monitoring far more reliable than that of a phone line or internet communicator. While both of these technology require a wired connection which can be cut. The internet hosts a myriad of potential issues such as IP conflicts, power failure to the modem/router and connectivity issues.

2GIG CDMA Verizon Alarm com Cell Radio installs directly into the Go!Control panel. There are two screws with two locking washers that will keep the unit in place.  The last step before enrolling in monitoring service is testing cellular signal strength.
