Alarm.com introduces Edge Recording Called Smart View for Their Cameras. Alarm.com video cameras are some of the best you can get for your home or small business. Because they are connected to the cloud they are ever-evolving and getting smarter and smarter as their artificial intelligence continues to learn and improve. With the smart recording ability, also known as analytics, alarm.com cameras can tell the difference between a person, a car, an animal, or the wind blowing a tree. This is one of the real differences that makes them a better choice than traditional network cameras that cannot be trusted for notification purposes.
Until recently, the disadvantage of having alarm.com cameras was that it only recorded small clips and did not provide 24/7 recording. But then alarm.com came out with the Server Video Recorders that could also provide this 24/7 recording. With the local recorders, you were able to have the best of both worlds.
The next phase in the alarm.com video recording is to install MicroSD cards in each camera. It is very affordable and can cost less than adding a local recorder. The Micro SD Cards can record 10-30 days without the need to buy a recorder or increase your monthly monitoring package.

If you have video analytics already you can have up to 2 cameras using the Smart View feature. If you want more than 2 cameras to use it you will need to upgrade the video plan to the higher commercial plans.
