Salt Lake City -The Most Dangerous City In the US for Property Crime

In a recent report by Reviews.org, Salt Lake City was ranked as the #1 most dangerous city in the whole US when it comes to property crime.

Reviews.org utilized FBI crime data to compile this report, and one requirement was determined when reviewing crime rates among cities:

The city had to have a population of more than 100,000.

More About the Report’s Findings

The word “property crime” under the definition by the FBI includes larceny, burglary, and also motor vehicle theft.

However, Review.org did not include motor vehicle theft in their report. The goal was to determine which city was the most dangerous to own property, whether it be a vacation home, investment properties, or even owning a home.

Review.org concluded some interesting findings from their report, one of them being that the cities in the top 10 list are fairly small. They noted that this “goes against the big city, big crime stereotype.”

They speculate that the reason why they believe so many small cities made it into the top 10 list is “because cities with lower populations also have fewer apartment buildings and skyscrapers, which are harder to break into or damage.”

In other words, more people living in residences that are easier to access.
