Wired ADT Carbon Monoxide Detector
$120.00
This Wired ADT Carbon Monoxide Detector is made for any hardwired security panel or monitoring service. If you have an old CO detector that is beeping there is a good chance it has reached its end of life and need to be replaced. Most older models last 4-6 years. This new one has a life of around 10 years. Â All you need to do is connect the 4 wires on the back of the old one to the 4 wires on the back of the new one if you want to try and install it yourself.

This new one has a life of around 10 years. Â All you need to do is connect the 4 wires on the back of the old one to the 4 wires on the back of the new one if you want to try and install it yourself.
These Wired ADT Carbon Monoxide Detector save lives every year. But they do not last forever. Every 5-10 years they will need to be replaced.
“I knew a carbon monoxide alarm was probably a smart thing to have but had the ADT Rep not suggested it, I might not have gotten one. It was a blessing that spared my life. If ADT hadn’t installed the carbon monoxide detector, this story would have turned out very differently.”
Compatible with all hardwired security panels like the Safewatch Pro 3000.
Also, the best way to test these is to use a can of CO and spray it in front of it.
Description of Wired ADT Carbon Monoxide Detector:
The ADTÂ carbon monoxide (CO) detector is an accurate and reliable means of alerting building occupants of potentially dangerous levels of CO in the protected area. The internal electro-chemical sensor communicates with a sophisticated on-board microprocessor that accurately tracks CO levels over time. This commercial-grade detection technology results in a quick response, reliable sensing, fast reset time, and superior false alarm immunity.
In addition, its small size allows the Wired ADT Carbon Monoxide Detector to blend inconspicuously with any decor, and its smooth contoured design is compatible with both residential and commercial environments. Unaffected by normal indoor temperature variations, the ADT Carbon Monoxide Detector also automatically adjusts for environmental changes and operates reliably under a wide variety of conditions. It also monitors its own performance and compensates for sensitivity drift throughout the course of its service life. The Wired ADT Carbon Monoxide Detector features the SafeTestâ„¢ functional test feature, which facilitates testing with real CO gas.
SafeTest meets the functional test requirement in NFPA 720, 2009/2012 editions. Like all CO detectors, the ADT Carbon Monoxide Detector has a limited service life. But unlike most, which last only six years, the ADT Carbon Monoxide Detector’s advanced sensor features a service life rated at 10 years. When it approaches this point, the ADT Carbon Monoxide Detector’s end-of-life timer automatically triggers a warning that indicates the device must be serviced. This warning annunciates at the detector, as well as at the control panel, and optionally at a remote monitoring station. An integrated temporal-4 sounder provides local signaling capability for the Wired ADT Carbon Monoxide Detector, and it easily interfaces with any intrusion or fire alarm system by means of its output relay. Its low current draw results in little additional demand on the system power supply.
Wired ADT Carbon Monoxide Detector Features:
10 Year End-of-Life Signal
SafeTest feature – functional test with a spray of real CO gas
Advanced electro-chemical sensing technology
Wiring option activates sounders of all connected detectors when any one of them goes into alarm
Deep housing with plenty of room for wiring
UL 2075 compliant
Transmits sensor end-of-life to the supervising panel and also central station if the system monitored
CO sensitivity conforms to UL2034 requirements
Built-in trouble/power supervision relay
Self-diagnostics keep the device operating optimally throughout its service life
12 or 24VDC operation and 150mA Form C relay
Large SEMS terminals ease wiring installation 14 to 22 AWG
One-touch TEST/Hush button simplifies local operation
Integrated 85dB temporal-4 sounder for local notification
On-board LED provides local alarm and trouble indication
Inconspicuous footprint and attractively contoured design
Adapter plate (When replacing these keep in mind that you may have some area on your wall that is painted a different color. Â The new one is smaller and vertical where the old one is usually larger and horizontal. Because of this most people order a special plate that made that can cover the old area.)
Application
Meant for indoor dwellings in residential or commercial buildings. Not intended for parking garages or industrial applications like gasoline refineries.
Installation for the Wired ADT Carbon Monoxide Detector:
Place wall mounted detectors at least 5ft up from the floor. If mounted on a ceiling at least 1 ft from any wall. Recommended CO detector location is 10 ft of all sleeping areas, including hotel rooms and dorm rooms. The suitable environment is 40 to 100 degrees F. Relative humidity 10-90%.  Do not install within 5 ft of any cooking appliance or within 10 ft of a fuel-burning appliance. Also do not install near air conditioners, heating registers, and any other ventilation source, furniture or draperies that might block the airflow, or any other recessed or obstructed area.
Warning: Failure to properly install, test, and also maintain a CO detector may cause it to fail, potentially resulting in loss of life.

Glad I found this to replace my old one when my system started beeping
