Commercial Hardwired Door Contact

Commercial Hardwired Door Contact is an overhead door contact from our series of commercial contacts. Also, just like other commercial contacts we carry, with a protected cable, As the Hardwired Protected Cable Door Contact is a commercial contact. You will install the device in areas that are more prone to lightning strikes or power surges. If the contact did not have the surge protection, a nearby lightning strike could easily fuse the internal contact of the device.

This makes it so that when the magnet is moved away from the contact, an alarm is not activated. This can be a serious problem because you may not realize your contact absorbed a lightning strike. Therefore your garage or warehouse will be unprotected. Assuming your property is protected when it isn’t, is worse than not protecting your property at all. If you use a contact like this one, you never have to wonder if your property is truly protected.

Hardwired Protected Cable Door Contact includes an adjustable magnet mounted on an L bracket and a reed switch contact. The L bracket should be mounted in the bottom corner of your overhead door. The contact should be mounted on the floor of your garage or warehouse. This has a wide gap of 3”, you must ensure that when the overhead door is closed that the contact and magnet are within 3” of each other. As soon as the magnet is moved further away than 3” from the contact, an alarm is activated.
