Description

The Hardwired 2-wire Smoke and Heat Detector with Siren is a great all-in-one detector that works to keep your home safe from fire as well as freezing dangers.

This detector incorporates a state-of-the-art optical sensing chamber and an advanced microprocessor. The microprocessor allows the detector to automatically adjust its sensitivity back to the factory setting when it becomes more sensitive due to contaminants settling in its chamber. But in order for this feature to work properly, the chamber must never be opened while power is applied to the smoke detector. This includes cleaning, maintenance, or screen replacement.

The detector also features a restorable, built-in, fixed temperature (135°F) thermal detector and can sense a freeze condition if the temperature is below 41°F.

Siren:

This detector contains a piezoelectric horn which generates the temporal pattern in an alarm condition. All detectors on a zone will sound when the power supply to them is reversed. The RRS-MOD can be used for the power supply reversal function. The RRSMOD also enables all the detectors’ sounders on a zone to be synchronized and allows the zone to be silenced from the panel by entering the alarm silence key at the keypad. The detector that initiated the alarm condition will have its red LED and Form C relays (if applicable) latched until reset by panel.

Installation ease

The Hardwired 2-wire Smoke and Heat Detector with Siren redefines installation ease with its plug-in design. This design allows an installer to pre-wire the bases included with the heads. The large wire entry port and the in-line terminals provide ample room to neatly route the wiring inside the base. The base accommodates a variety of backbox mounting methods as well as direct mounting with drywall anchors. To complete the installation, the i3 heads plug-in to the base.

Intelligence:

The detectors offer a number of intelligent features to simplify testing and maintenance. Drift compensation and smoothing algorithms are standard with the i3 line, to minimize nuisance alarms. When you connect the detector to the 2-wire, it can generate a remote maintenance signal.

Where to Install:

  • On every level of the home, including basements
  • In every bedroom
  • Outside each separate dwelling unit sleeping area, within 21 feet of any door to a sleeping room
  • If wall mounted, not farther than 12 inches from the adjoining ceiling surface
  • Do not install within 10 feet of a fixed cooking appliance. Use a photoelectric or ionization (with a silencing button) between 10 feet and 20 feet of a fixed cooking appliance
  • Where required by other governing laws, codes, or standards

  1. Maria Mac (store manager)

One advantage of hardwired 2-wire smoke and heat detectors with sirens is that they are easier to install than 4-wire detectors, as they only require two wires to connect to the electrical system. This can make them a more cost-effective option, especially for retrofitting existing buildings.
