The Female Pigtail Power Adapter Cable (Female) with Plug is usually helpful if you are using a power supply to power the camera and the power supply has a male power end. When you connect to this female pigtail, you then have two power wires to connect to the siamese wire. This product saves more of your time and effort as it eliminates the need to cut and strip wires for your cameras.

This cable connects to an analog or an HD-TVI camera so you don’t have to cut and strip the wires. Usually, you connect it to the camera and then crimp the wires to the Siamese cable. So this pigtail simplifies things for you. If you are using a pre-made cable, you might not need this.

The black wire is for negative and the red wire is for positive. Since the camera is only powered with 12V, it usually won’t hurt you, but always remember to turn off the power supply (or unplug it before you work on the power).
