SECURITY CAMERAS AND VIDEO SURVEILLANCE OPTIONS? WE'VE GOT YOU COVERED.

Having security cameras in your home or business is more common than ever. With technology advancing rapidly and prices becoming more affordable, almost everyone is adding video surveillance for added protection. Whether it’s to keep an eye on your property, deter potential intruders, or simply have peace of mind when you’re away, security cameras are a smart and effective solution. They provide 24/7 monitoring, remote access from your phone, and clear video evidence if something happens—making them a must-have for both homes and businesses.
Alarm.com Cameras
The pros of using this system include cloud recording, AI integration, and excellent notifications, along with a user-friendly app experience. However, there are some cons to consider. The number of clips is limited based on your monitoring package, and while you can add more clips each month, 24/7 recording isn't available unless you add an SD card or hard drive.
IP CAMERA SYSTEM
IP cameras offer 12MP (1080P and 4K) recording for clear identification of license plates and features, aiding prosecution. However, they require wiring, with costs around $2,500 for a 4-camera package. There can be a slight lag in viewing, and long wire runs over 150ft may require a POE switch, bridge, or HD-TVI.
HD-TVI CAMERA SYSTEM
These cameras record in high definition up to 3MP (1080P) and are ideal if you have existing analog wiring, offering great quality without re-wiring. They’re cost-effective, work well for long-distance runs over 300ft, and typically have less lag than IP cameras. While they don’t match the resolution of IP cameras, they come very close.

Security Cameras and Video Surveillance Options

Doorbell Camera
The most common security camera is a doorbell camera. The best doorbell camera you can get is with Alarm.com. Most people add it to their security system package that also uses the alarm.com app. Doorbell cameras can help you see what is on the ground in front of your door so you can monitor when packages arrive and they can also help you see who is at your door. They usually use the existing wires from a wired doorbell, but they even have battery-powered options now also.
Indoor and Outdoor Cameras Overview
Plan for 1–2 Mbps upload speed per camera. With 2 Mbps, you can support 1–2 cameras. Alarm.com cameras offer 2–4MP resolution, while HD-TVI and IP cameras go up to 8MP/4K. Wired options include HD-TVI and IP (analog is mostly discontinued). These systems typically store about a month of footage and can be accessed remotely or locally if no internet is available.
Cloud cameras
The most common cameras nowadays are cameras that record to the cloud. Alarm.com has the best ones because they are connected to their analytics that can tell the difference between a person and the wind blowing a tree. (which means less clips wasted and less false notifications)

Cloud cameras can be wired with a power wire and connect to Wi-Fi or they can also be wired with ethernet (Cat5/Cat6) cable and powered with a PoE switch.
The cloud cameras do not require a local recorder, but one can be added if you wanted 24/7 recordings in addition to the cloud recordings. You can even add an SD card in the cameras to also accomplish this.
