New Lynx Touch 5100 and Existing Vista 21ip use WiFi and LAN to Monitor

Honeywell now has two panels that can be monitored using the internet. Even though the Vista 21ip has been around for a few years, its time is now come. Also, most people cannot use the Vista 21ip since they want a wireless system that is an “All in one” or they have no way to get a cat5 cable from their router to their panel. Now that the new Lynx Touch is available, and so is the WiFi module, everyone that has a wireless router can monitor their alarm using an internet connection.

I do not think that monitoring your alarm system via the internet should be a primary method of communication, but I think everyone should have it. The landline phone and cellular radio with 2G, 3G, or 4G can be used as a back up just in case the internet is down.

I think with this new technology alarm will be reported quicker and the cost to control the home remotely will go down.  I usually charge no additional cost outside of the wifi module or the Vista 21ip upgrade cost for this.
